Hamu

Ham is a processed food made from salted blocks of pork or chicken thighs. While often smoked, some varieties are not. Originally referring to the 'thigh meat of animals (primarily pigs),' the term commonly refers to the salted processed food today. In the US and Japan, processed foods using meats other than pork or chicken thighs can also be called ham.
